My name is Ireland, and I am an EKTEP student teacher, a daughter, an older sister to three brothers, and a dog mom to a Frenchie named Livvy. In my free time, I love curling up with a cup of tea and a good book. Also… I am obsessed with everything fall: the colours, pumpkin-flavoured coffee, leaves, sweaters, and Gilmore Girls!
Since I was a little girl, I’ve dreamed about being a teacher. Along the way, there have been people who have either encouraged or questioned that. As we all know, dreams change, and I spent a bit of time undecided about what I wanted to be when I grew up. Yet here we are, getting my education degree; it feels like a full-circle moment. Teaching is my passion, and a part of me has always known that.
My why for teaching: to make every single student feel like they have someone in their corner. I want to make them feel encouraged, cared for, supported, seen, and loved. I have two amazing parents who have always been there for me to lean on, but not every child has that. I hope my future students know I’m there for them!
